Light Cannabis is obtained from female inflorescences of a hemp quality, Cannabis sativa (L1753) very precious because they contain minimum THC (below 0.2% and tolerated up to 0.6%) and high concentrations of cannabidiol CBD, up to 4%, the use of which is frequent in various sectors.
GLI UTILIZZI CONSENTITI DALLA LEGGE
Law 242 of 2016 allows various uses of legal cannabis: FOOD – seeds can be used as ingredients for oil, bread, pasta and biscuits. Their value lies in the high protein content, the ease of digestion and the balance between omega 3 and omega 6 fats; COSMETICS; TEXTILE – hemp fibers are very resistant; GREEN BUILDING – hemp has a high insulating power.
LEGAL HEMP AND ILLEGAL HEMP
Law 242/2016 did not legalize the cultivation and personal use of hemp but legalized industrial production, therefore agricultural, with certain limits that refer to THC, an acronym that stands for delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol which must be less than 0.2%, but there is the possibility, for industrial production, of reaching up to 0.6% in case of plant stress. This is why the industrial product that has been legalized is called Cannabis light and is commercially available as it can be sold.
Therapeutic cannabis is different, which cannot be grown because it has an amazing effect, it contains THC in a percentage from 5% to 8% and is sold in pharmacies.
EFFECTS ON PEOPLE
From an effects point of view, legal cannabis does not create any appreciable psychotropic effect, does not cause intoxication and no type of paranoia.
The high rate of Cannabidiol, on the other hand, has high therapeutic potential with muscle relaxant, antiepileptic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects; the feeling of tranquility that the subject can feel is, however, the result of the negligible THC rate. CBD, contained in high percentages, also makes the product a valid natural pain reliever against migraine, menstrual pain and joint aches. It is an adjuvant in diseases such as epilepsy, Parkinsons disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, ischemia.
According to experts, however, the link between the substance, the intrinsic characteristics of the consumer and the methods of intake should not be underestimated. It is also necessary to consider that cannabinoids in the plant are present in a carboxylated (or inactive) form and cannot cause any effect on the nervous system; the heating of the substance involves the activation of the cannabinoids.
